An introduction to the STEMmersion

Updated: May 20, 2019

This morning was an exciting one. In this short amount of time, I've found a personal goal for this STEMmersion, to live deliberately. We learned a lot about what it means to live deliberately today, and what it even is. In class, we were assigned to come up with our own definitions for what we thought living deliberately meant. Afterword’s we came up with a class consensus about what we all thought it meant and came up with the conclusion that it means to live one's life with purpose or a clear goal.

How living deliberately relates to nature, I guess, is that everything in nature has a goal. Every plant, squirrel, rabbit, bird, has a goal. Whether it be collecting seeds to feed their newborns or burying nuts for the winter, everything in nature is living deliberately. I think we, people in general, have a lot to learn from nature.

We took a break in the afternoon to go outside; we walked over to the pond and took pictures of plants and flowers near it. We really got to study the individual petals and leaves from the flowers and got to see each one close up. Afterword’s we got to sit in silence listening to nature and being at peace. Just listening reminded me that there was a whole world outside and it just reinforced what I thought living deliberately meant.

Here are some pictures I from the pond
