I've been to the narrows many times before but today was probably my favorite time. There were stations we had to fill out in our nature journals. A little insight, nature journals are journals that you document nature in, it's self explanatory. We tested creek water to see if its clean and viable for wildlife, turns out it is. Testing the water was fun as I've never done something like that, and the trail we took to get there I've never taken before so that was a enjoyable experience. In the afternoon we decided to go to the rope swing and jump into the river. Well obviously I decided before today as I packed my pair of swim trunks but that's neither here nor there. Swinging was super exciting, the water was shockingly cold at first but the second and third time was way better. i'm glad I brought a pair of shoes i could swim in as my feet would have been really muddy.
Today we were supposed to write in our nature journal and really focus on something and describe it with all of our senses (besides taste). I took a photo of a majestic vulture standing on a perch and described it. I described how it looked but I couldn't describe its sound or smell as I couldn't. I did however get all the senses (besides taste obviously) when a bug landed on my knee, I got to feel it on my knee, I got to hear its buzz as it flew by, I got to see its color of its body and wing, but I didn't smell it as it didn't have a smell. Today was really fun and it was honestly my favorite trip to the narrows.
